We designed tracing.co.nz, to ensure that users had a simple, trusted and secure way to share their contact tracing information.
We believe that confidence in privacy and data security are fundamental to users being willing to share their information and do their part to help stamp out COVID-19. That’s why in our privacy policy we undertake to only share this information with certain organisations in certain circumstances.
Unfortunately, that means we are not able to provide businesses with access to contact tracing data.
Contact Tracing information will only be provided (directly and securely) to the requesting party in the following scenarios:
Requests from the Ministry of Health and/or a District Health Board in the event that it is required for contact tracing purposes.
Requests from an individual for his/her personal data, as per the Privacy Act.
Requests from organisations which falls under the Public Records Act.
What we use the data for is defined in greater detail in our privacy policy and terms of use.
