We strongly believe that confidence in privacy and data security are fundamental to people being willing to share their information and do their part to help stamp out COVID-19. That’s why in our privacy policy we undertake to only share this information with certain organisations in certain circumstances.

Contact Tracing information will only be provided directly and securely to the requesting party in the following scenarios:

  • Requests from the Ministry of Health and/or a District Health Board in the event that it is required for contact tracing purposes.
  • Requests from an individual for his/her personal data, as per the Privacy Act.
  • Requests from organisations which falls under the Public Records Act

Data will be kept for the sole purpose of contact tracing. All collected data is encrypted, and the data can only be accessed by a limited group of authorised personnel for contact tracing purposes. All of our team have also been through a vetting process, which includes Ministry of Justice criminal record checks.

The data will be retained for two months, then permanently deleted (in accordance with WorkSafe guidelines) when it is no longer needed for contact tracing purposes.
