When an individual tests positive for COVID-19, the Ministry of Health or District Health Boards rely upon on the account of that person to tell them who they have been in contact with and what locations they have visited, such as a workplace or public facility.
The Ministry then contacts people who may have been in contact with that positive case as well as the organisations responsible for any locations they may have visited.
If someone with COVID-19 has visited one of a business' premises, it may be asked to provide a register of other people who have been at that location at around the same time.
The business can then forward the request to us at tracing@mediasuite.co.nz with the subject line 'Request for Contact Tracing information'. Please also include the 6-digit location code. We'll take over from there and transfer the requested information to the requesting agency directly and securely.
For more information about the contact tracing process, please visit the contact tracing page on Ministry of Health's website.
