Contact tracing is the process where the Ministry of Health or local District Health Board's Public Health Unit (PHU) undertakes to determine which people a probable or confirmed case has been in contact with, and how closely.
There are two types of ‘contacts’ – close contacts and casual contacts. Health services give advice to both of these contact types on what they need to do.
Tracing.co.nz is an application that helps keep appropriate records of visitors to places of business to support the government’s contact tracing efforts in the fight against COVID-19.
Please visit the Contact Tracing for COVID-19 page on the Ministry of Health's website for more detailed information about contact tracing.
