With the release of the NZ COVID Tracer app by the Ministry of Health, we are anticipating some confusion around the compatibility between the app and tracing.co.nz.
Scanning the QR codes on the tracing.co.nz posters with the NZ COVID Tracer app will not work, as QR codes are unique and associated with the application they were created for - and are not cross-compatible.
Tracing.co.nz compatible QR code posters can be identified by the tracing.co.nz logo in the bottom right corner.
To scan a QR code:
On Android devices
- Download a QR code reader app on Google Play store
On iPhones/iPads
- Open the Camera app
